Anyhow, let me begin ...
The second week I was in Luzern was (as I mention in my last blog) FASNACHT! A super Dirty Thursday to Ash Wednesday festival with music, cocktails -mostly biers and hot teas with flavored schnapps in them (which sounds totally wussy but those teas are a kick in the teeth) - and MONSTERS! ... to scare away winter in order to bring spring into bloom. :) Fasnacht was a fantastic once in a lifetime event (for an American, that is). Luzern puts on quite the show... the most popular and bragged about Fasnacht celebration in all of Switzerland. So, of course, I did my part for a couple of days and dressed the part. Well, and also, did my fair share of the drinking .. imagine that. ha. I've posted many many pictures on my google photo page - some are just Fasnacht fun! And the other album contains pics of the monster parade - there are tons of those pics. Feel free to look all you want. I included every pic I had just to show everyone how freaking awesome the costumes and parades were. I totally heart Fasnacht!
During my third and fourth weeks here, I went on walking tours of Luzern - well, my own self-guided "made up" walking tours. I traveled the streets of
Luzern, went in my fair share of cafes and coffee houses, and wondered at the sights and beautiful architecture. I've posted many pictures to my public gallery with captions underneath detailing each photo's contents. Please enjoy.
